A full content rebuild for a heart-condition nonprofit
Since 1996, HCMA has supported people living with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, their families, and the clinicians who treat them. I'm moving their website from Duda to WordPress, and rebuilding the content from the ground up along the way.
The situation
HCMA's website has to work for very different readers: someone newly diagnosed, a parent, a physician looking for a Center of Excellence, a donor. Moving platforms was the right time to step back and reorganize the content around them.
Why it's personal
This one is personal. I'm an HCM patient myself, so I've been on the other side of this website: newly diagnosed, looking for answers, trying to find the right specialist. I knew what a patient needs to find first, and what can wait, before we organized a single page.
What I'm building
A full content audit of the existing site, then a restructure built around who's reading and what they need. The main navigation now follows a patient's path (Understanding HCM, Living With HCM, Centers of Excellence, Stories), while clinicians, members and donors each get their own direct route from the top of every page. It's all rebuilt on WordPress so HCMA's team controls it going forward.
Highlights
